This is a dark crimson red, almost black variety with little white tips when in full bloom. Blooms areapproximately 1 1/2"- 2 1/2" across.

Soil temperatures required for germination 65°-70°. Once established these plants can effectively grow in temps down to 55°.

For direct seeding sow < 1/8" deep after your regions average last frost date. Light can aid in germination. Scabiosa can be treated as cool flowers by sowing seed in the fall for an early spring emergence.

Can be started indoors up to 4-6 weeks before your regions last frost date. Very lightly cover with soil and gently mist to keep moist or bottom water to ensure the seed is not disrupted.
